Solana Beach, Calif. - Retired Marine Colonel Doug Applegate today released the following statement after Congressman Darrell Issa voted against allowing the families of victims of the 9/11 terror attacks to seek justice:
“Once again, Darrell Issa has shown an incredible lack of respect for 9/11 first responders and families. As if calling 9/11 'simply' a plane crash and then voting against health benefits for 9/11 first responders wasn’t bad enough, today the Congressman voted against allowing 9/11 families to sue the Saudi Government for funding terrorism.
“Congressman Issa’s continued failure to understand the impact of 9/11 and the justice that families deserve is another reminder that we need someone in Congress who puts our country’s interests over their own partisan interests.”
